RFM69CW 433MHz Wireless Transceiver Breakout

The RFM69CW is a pin-compatible upgrade to the polular RFM12B radios and offers improved sensitivity and range compared (+30%) at the cost of a small increase in power consumption. The new module also supports RSSI which is a useful addition.

We have created this breakout board to make connecting to this module very easy. The breakout board includes a 3.3V Voltage Regulator, plus Logic Level Conversion circuitry so you you can connect it directly to 5V systems.

The module is a great inexpensive option for wireless communication; it's an ISM band FSK transceiver module implemented with a unique PLL. These modules operate in the 434MHZ band and fully comply with FCC and ETSI regulations.

This module has a wide voltage supply range of 2.2-3.8VDC. An SPI interface is used to send data and configure the RFM69CW module. The configuration commands, described in the RFM69CW IC Datasheet linked below, can be used to set the data rate, frequency band, wake-up timer, transfer data, receive data from the 16-bit FIFO, and much more

Arduino Library

There is an excellent RFM69CW Arduino Library available from LowPowerLabs. However, their example code is intended for their own boards which include a Flash RAM chip. This code needs removing in order to work correctly, so we have included the two example programs for Node and Gateway below which we have modified to work.
